Two of the best ways for children to learn is through play and spending quality time with their family. My goal is to keep homework to a minimum so that your child can have time to free play, participate in extracurricular activities, participate in organized sports, eat dinner as a family, be creative, and so much more!
Leader of the Week
-Each student will have the opportunity to be "Leader of the Week" this school year.
-Leader of the Week will have homework the weekend before their assigned week. They will fill out an "All About Me" poster.
-On Monday, "Leader of the Week" will share their poster with the class. Throughout the week, the "Leader of the Week" will have certain leadership responsibilities within the classroom. On Friday, "Leader of the Week" may bring in a favorite book or other item to share with the class.
Reading
- Each 2nd grader is expected to read 20 minutes every night.
- A guide will be provided so that parents know how to read with their child and get the most benefit from this 20 minutes.
-A Reading BINGO card will also be provided so that students can track their reading, try out new types of books, and have the chance to earn prizes!
-I will provide ONE copy of the reading guide, mclass question stems, and Reading BINGO card. If any of these are lost, they are linked below for you to make yourself a new copy.
